You know when they say no news is good news? This is the very antithesis of how gamers have been taking Bethesda Studios' silence for the last 7 years. It's driving us mad and if they at least said 'It's in development' we could all relax a bit more. But by the look of things, that is still far from happening.

Bethesda Studios may be too busy for Fallout 4 at the moment!

Let's face it, at the moment this studio is insanely busy with the likes of The Evil Within, Battlecry, Elder Scrolls Online and Prey 2 all in the works. Therefore, it may be extremely difficult for them to even begin thinking about the development of the game we're all waiting for! Though some gamers even believe that the production of Fallout 4 has been stopped by Bethesda and passed over to Battle Studios, who are currently in control of Battlecry. I'd take that with a pinch of salt.

Rumors surrounding Fallout 4!

Back in June, Reddit user GNR_Informant claimed to have obtained leaked "Fallout 4" details, here is what he had to say!

"First and foremost, the game will take place in Boston, and be kind of a direct sequel to Fallout 3 with a few groups returning. From what it sounds like, "The Institute" is pretty much the downtown DC or New Vegas of this game. Boston is going to be unlike anything we've seen in a Fallout game before, with buildings more on par with cyberpunk and retro-futurism."

In response to all of the news that was surfacing about the game, Bethesda's vice president Peter Hines had this to say:

Bethesda does not comment on any kind of rumors or speculations...you should ignore everything unless it comes from an official source/channel.

So, I did just that and found this little gem from all the way back in 2008 when avid gamers disappeared for weeks on end as they crawled into their gaming corners clutching Fallout 3 in their hands.

This is not something we're going to do once and then go away and never do it again...when that will be or how long that will be god knows, but we acquired it specifically because we wanted to own it and develop it and work on it like we do with The Elder Scrolls - Peter Hines himself!

Fallout 4 Announcement Date

What are your thoughts on when Fallout would be announced? To be honest, as we've seen how busy they are I wouldn't expect anything until E3 2015 and if we don't see it then it could be another year before we receive that inevitable teaser!

In response to questions about Fallout 4 Bethesda's game director Todd Howard told Kotaku, "We don't [have a timeframe for our next game announcement], but I think it's gonna be a while." But hey, a while means its being created right and surely that's something! All we want is Fallout 4 and I think an old saying might be our only solace: the longer you wait the better the meal.
