Christopher Nolan is well-known for maintaining an almost impenetrable veil of secrecy surrounding his projects, and even though Interstellar is due in theaters in just under a month, we've still seen relatively little of the sci-fi flick.

However, you now have the opportunity to explore [Interstellar](movie:813746)'s space ship, The Endurance, in a fully realized virtual world. The experience, which is provided with the help of the Oculus Rift virtual reality device, is a direct CG scan of the set and allows you to float through the Endurance before reaching the cockpit, checking out some planets and then plunging into a wormhole.

Even Christopher Nolan is impressed with the virtual version of his epic set. Regarding the experience, he stated:

I was impressed with how the experience is able to put you in the cockpit of 'Interstellar's' spaceship, the Endurance. It was just like being back on set.

Unfortunately, if you want to be part of the experience, you're going to have to be in certain cities at fairly specific times. Here's where the show is travelling to:

  • New York - AMC Lincoln Square 13 - October 6-8
  • Houston - AMC Gulf Pointe 30 - October 17-19
  • Los Angeles - AMC City Walk - October 25-27
  • Chantilly, VA - Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center - November 5-19

At the moment, it doesn't look like the show will be leaving US shores.

Interstellar will arrive in theaters on November 7th.
