Director Paul Feig knows comedy... and he has a proven track record with female comedians ([The Heat](movie:400337) and Bridesmaids). He broke the news via Twitter that he'll once again be teaming up with screenwriter Katie Dippold, who wrote The Heat script, for a reboot of The Ghostbusters franchise which Feig tweets "will star hilarious women".

[Ghostbusters 3](movie:32733) with female leads may seem unorthodox to some, but, if anyone can make it work, it's this tandem. Dippold was also a writer for Parks & Rec prior to writing for Feig, so she got jokes. Not to mention, The Heat was an action movie... not just a comedy. So, I think the mix of experience she has writing action/adventure and cheeky comedy goodness will work here.

Also, slightly unrelated, but I'm begging for a remix/update to arguably the most classic (and MOST 80s) movie-inspired music video ever...

Personally, as a fan of both Feig and the Ghostbusters franchise, I'll make sure to catch this in theaters. Just think of the funny women that could be cast: Tina Fey, Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Faris - the list goes on! Do you think it will be a hit?
