Sims 4 makes it harder for you to die!

Sims 4 has made a few changes to the way in which your characters can die. Firstly, deaths are categorized as either "natural" or "emotional. Personally I think they should include an "intentional" option in there seeing as how much fun we derive from killing off our sims!

Fire, Electrocution, Hunger, Old Age, Overexertion and Cowplant are filed under Natural Deaths, while Embarrassment, Anger, and Hysteria are filed under Emotional. If you don't know what the cow plant is, take a look!

Emotions have different intensity levels. After a period of intense subjection to a particular emotion sims reach their highest level of tolerance and will die from it. There’s only so much Embarrassment, Anger and Hysteria Sims can handle. That being said EA Maxis and The Sims Studio have made it much more difficult for your character to die and it happens far less frequently.

Ways to die in Sims 4!

There are an abundance of ways in which your sim can die, despite the lengths EA went to prevent it occurring. Your sim can be set on fire, if there is a fire inside you home and you don't put it out sims can die very quickly from it.

The Rocket Ship and Electrocution!

Goodbye sim!
Goodbye sim!

The rocket ship can also kill you if you do not have sufficient skill to pilot it. The rocket will fall out of the sky and perhaps catch fire, thus you burn to death once again. Kind of the same death just there's a rocket ship involved.

Electrocution occurs when a sim attempts to fix an electrical appliance with their skills for doing so being too low. They will be "singed" for a few hours and if you attempt to do it once again, they die.

Emotional overload!

Just having a laugh.

Hunger and old age are standard from Sims 3, only that they take much longer in Sims 4. There is also anger, embarrassment and laughter! If these sims remain in the enraged, hysterical or mortified state respectively, the emotional intensity will be too much and they die. But all of these can be difficult to achieve.

There are cheats which can send your sim into the "singed" phase, or any of the emotional states I've listed above which shortened the period of time you have to wait if you're really desperate.

Swimming pool DLC coming to Sims 4 with free update in November!

Some of these ways to die can be a little disturbing, but it's still hilarious to watch the sim become over-exerted on the treadmill because you won't let him off. AND new DLC is bringing in pools will which bring back the fan favorite of sticking them in the pool and pulling up the ladder.

I always loved making an attic and then detaching it from the house so that they were trapped in this space that wasn't connected to anywhere. Then you could carry on with your other sims and occasionally check back on how he was getting along! So cruel.

Here are some hilarious moments that have happened to players in Sims over the years!

1. One Sim fireman delayed the extinguishing of a fire for 16 hours in order to celebrate his birthday!

2. One guy needed money, so he seduced a girl living next door with her children. Eventually he moved in with them, took all of her money and placed the whole family in the pool and surrounding it with a wall. He then took over the house. Wow.

3. This is a cat...

4. That hilarious moment when the Butler cheers on your love making!

5. Becoming a centaur as you leave the shower...

6. And to create a full circle with this article, let's finish with this. RIP!
