Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight has found its female lead, bringing to an end a process that has seen some of the biggest names in Hollywood vie for the role.
Michelle Williams, Hilary Swank, Robin Wright and Demi Moore all lobbied to land the much-coveted part, but according to The Wrap, Tarantino has decided to go with The Spectacular Now star Jennifer Jason Leigh.
The Hateful Eight is Tarantino's post Civil War movie which follows a pair of bounty hunters a tough female prisoner and a local sheriff as they wait for a storm to pass with four men who may or may not be attempting to free the prisoner.
Leigh will play Daisy Domergue, a fugitive wanted for murder and due to hang for her crimes.
Previous Tarantino collaborators Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen are also on board for the genre flick, which is slated for release December 2015.
