If you've seen any of movies that George Romero is renown for, such as Night Of The Living Dead, Dawn Of The Dead or Survival Of The Dead or AMC's The Walking Dead, at some time or other you've probably wondered why it is there were no zombie animals in any of them.

Well, apparently you weren't the only one because Animal Planet is producing a television series revolving around with undead animals called The Other Dead, based on a comic series written by Joshua Ortega and Digger T. Mesch.

The article doesn't explain what could cause Fido not to stay (dead), but in case you wanted to learn more about the demented minds that could bring such a horrific vision to life (so to speak) Comicbook.com has an interview with Ortega, Mesch and Kevin Eastman (yes, the same 'Kevin Eastman' who co-created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) that gives you a glimpse into the minds of the creators of the next evolution of the undead.
