We all know Spidey has a variety of villains, ranging from Mysterio to Spider-Carnage, even a villain called Black Tarantula. However with few films left in the saga, what will happen to Spidey's great villains? As far as we know, The Sinister Six is going to be in the Spidey franchise, but who else is? Here are my 10 villain choices for Spider-Man.
10. The Jackal
The Jackal has garnered critical acclaim from many. He's been undoubtedly one of Spidey's most dangerous villains and is commonly known for the popular clone saga. The Jackal could make 2 appearances, in either the untitled female Spider-Man project or TASM 3. It would be interesting to see how Peter reacts to this, seeing the man who cloned his dear deceased love.
The Jackal was once also a teacher at Peter's school. His original name was Miles Warren. We saw how well Rhys Ifans portrayed the Lizard, especially since his connection with Peter. This would be an excellent story line, and if the rumors of Peter's death is true, then it could open up a possibility for the Spider-Verse saga or the clone saga, which brings me to my next choice.
Spider-Carnage was actually introduced in the Clone Saga, and is one of Spider-Man's most interesting foes. He's unique by creation. The psychotic symbiote Carnage, forming with Spider-Man is a recipe for disaster. Literally. This could provide an interesting plot, with NY thinking Spider-Carnage is Spider-Man. It could provide a appearance of Jameson, and really mess up Spidey's world.
If the Clone saga fully doesn't work, there is one possibility. If the Jackal really does decide to clone Peter, it's possible instead of a different dimension symbiote, they'll use the actual symbiote in 2017's movie "Venom Carnage." This would show Peter struggling to keep his identity a secret and show the world he really is a great hero.
One of Spidey's most iconic foes, the Scorpion has been a thorn on his side for a very long time. Hired by Jameson, the Scorpion was hired to hunt down how Peter Parker became so good at finding Spider-Man (himself.) After failing, Jameson dons the costume on Gargan, who becomes the Scorpion.
Gargan would be a great choice because of his variety, skills, and overall strength. He has a tail he can move. Plus, like I said before, they need to introduce Jameson. The Scorpion would be a great way for it to happen, plus the Scorpion does try to kill Jameson.
A Mercanary who really shouldn't open his mouth, the Beetle is a force to be reckoned with. He's made a trademark appearance in Ultimate Spider-Man, serving Taskmaster. The Beetle has so much potential to be a great villain and could really put Spidey in his place, until he, you know, returns. :)
How could the Beetle stay relevant in a movie? He could be a engineer at Oscorp, who realizes he can use his technology for evil. It actually could be a very nice hit, maybe getting 900 million? Who knows? This guy is a living beetle. I really wouldn't want to encounter him. Insects. Killers. Mercs.
Don't get me wrong, the Green Goblin is great and all, but I mean we've see him in 3 movies. The Hobgoblin is defiantly a popular villain in the Spider-Man franchise. In the comics the most popular version of the Hobgoblin in Roderick Kingsley. It'd be cool to see the Hobgoblin in a film, plus this Goblin is the only one who stayed sane.
Roderick Kingsley was a costume designer in the comics. It's possible that they could make him a worker at Oscorp and he designed the armor for Harry Osborn's military armor. The creativity of Spider-Man and his villains is what makes the comics entertaining.
B.J Novak played Alistair Smythe in his debut in TASM 2. The Spider-Slayers we know are originally robots made by Alistair's father, Spencer Smythe. We never see Spencer, but we see Alistair in TASM 2. Smythe transforms himself into a Spider-Slayer and becomes a powerful villain in the comics.
We know Oscorp is full of evil and chaotic people. We also know Menken and Smythe must be friends, so he must also know about the secret room in Oscorp. We can assume Smythe could possibly be a villain in one of the Spider-Man movies.
4. The Chameleon
This villain would DEFIANTLY bring Spidey's mind into craziness. For those of you who don't know, The Chameleon was Spidey's first supervillain, who has the ability to change faces into anyone he wants. We saw that Gwen Stacy died in the Amazing Spider-Man 2, and we know TASM 3 will focus on Peter's recovery. Introducing him into the film would be a great way to bring the franchise back up.
We see a teaser of The Chameleon in some pictures for The Sinister Six. While it's unknown if it's Mysterio or Chameleon, the Chameleon hasn't been announced to be in any Spidey films while Mysterio has. Sadly we won't see the Chameleon anytime soon.
Arguably the most psychotic villain in comic book history, Carnage is slated to make his live debut in 2017's 'Venom Carnage.' We don't know if the title is true or some rumor, but Carnage is a villain that should be on the big screen, and would provide a team up with Spider-Man and Venom. Sounds interesting.
Cletus Kassidy is a serial killer who was actually hinted in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 viral written by Eddie Brock. He actually was rumored to be in the cancelled Spider-Man 4, but actually the Vulture and the Lizard were. If Sony gets this character done right, imagine how great it could be for us and the box office.
One of my favorite villains, Morlun is the first one to actually kill Spider-Man. He's even going to be the main villain in this summer's 'Spider-Verse' where all the Spider-Men (and I think women) will join forces to take him down. He punches harder than Thor and the Hulk, and is a immortal being. Yeah, he's that powerful.
It's possible that Morlun could join the Sinister Six if lets say one of them steps down, or he could even replace Kraven the Hunter if they follow Kraven's Last Hunt. Either way, Morlun is a force to be reckoned with, and was once thought to be the Man in the Shadows by some people I know.
While [Venom](movie:372411) is going to receive his own solo film in 2017, it's not known how exactly it's going to work. It's commonly believed that Venom will be at first a villain, then an antihero, but it's possible that the Venom we know won't be there, rather Agent Venom, played by Flash Thompson.
The reason we need Venom has a villain is his darker nature. Sure, gritty Batman wasn't always the greatest thing, but we know Venom is a completely complex character, and we seriously want Sony to explore the depths of Venom and his character. Sony must do it right if they want the Venom movie to actually be successful.
So, with the Sinister Six coming out in 2016, the Venom vs Carnage in 2017, the untitled female Spider-Man project coming out in 2017 as well, and TASM 3 in 2018, the Spider-Man franchise is expanding as we know it.
