Netflix and Marvel have just released the first images of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock in the upcoming Daredevil television series, Marvel's Daredevil.
Now, to those of you only familiar with the film version of the character, you may be surprised at his choice of attire. He seems to have abandoned the classic red spandex or something much darker and stealthy. So what's going on here?
Well, it seems the television series will be taking some direction from Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.'s seminal Daredevil graphic novel, Daredevil: Man Without Fear. In this iconic story, Daredevil starts off his crime fighting antics with a black suit before graduating to the classic red. Compare the above shot to a panel from the comic below:
Marvel also released an image of Matt Murdock in his alter ego 'lawyer-mode' costume. Although this doesn't seem to be based on any comic-book in particular, I'm sure it'll be to the liking of most fans.
And here, once again, is the costume-less Murdock from Daredevil: Man Without Fear. It's close to his appearance in the television show, but let's face it, we're more interested to see him in his costume than suit jacket.
What do you think? Have Marvel and Netflix headed in the right direction with rebooting Daredevil?
Which color costume would you have preferred the television Daredevil to wear?
