If you’re like me, you’re waiting for new life to be breathed into the Resident Evil franchise. While the movie aspect has slowed down, remaining quiet for a couple years, the games have kept moving with both a port of the Gamecube remake coming to PS4 and the announced Resident Evil Revelations 2. Now we’re going to get a TV series as well, though no official word has been given other than the fact it will not be a retelling of what the games and films have already covered. The best bet is the series will either follow a brand new character or give the perspective of a lesser one during an origins tale and spin off in a whole new string of interactions.

Better be in the show.
Better be in the show.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for it though. It is in preliminary pre-production and is guaranteed not to hit the air until after the final Resident Evil film hits theatres. The film was originally slated for this Fall, then Fall 2015, and now lead actress Milla Jovovich is pregnant, so expect an extensive wait before filming happens, then a long post-production process for the 3D effects the series has become known for.

In short, a lot of good Resident Evil products are coming, but we’ll have to wait a while before any more film ones come to fruition. For now, you’ll just have to settle for [The Walking Dead](series:201193).
