ShowBiz411 reports that a casting call for the next X-Men film refers to it by the title X-Men: Akkaba. Akkaba is an obvious reference to Clan Akkaba, the cult of mutants that worship Apocalypse, including the Four Horsemen, Death most significantly.
The report also says that the casting call is for three 18-year-old actors to play 16-year-old characters. The casting is for three characters named Dylan, Eva and Sabrina. These 3 names do not ring a bell, so it is most likely that these are the names of the actors to play the younger Scott, Jean and Storm.
The report does not offer up any physical evidence to support these claims, so I am taking his word for it for the moment. This does spark up a lot of questions as to what is this movie actually called? After all, the title "Apocalypse" is only an assumption due to Bryan Singer tweeting [X-Men: Apocalypse](movie:1194267), and since then the name has been used frequently in interviews, but with no real announcement.
If this is the title of the new X-men movie, then Fox are really taking a risk. Why would they choose to name this huge blockbuster after an obscure cult that only die hard X-Men fans would know of. Apocalypse is a recognisable villain to basically 90% of the planet, so why take the risk?
If this is the films new title, is it the worst superhero title in history? Why don't we take a look?
Marvel's Avengers Assemble
Right, please don't start commenting "It is The Avengers you idiot!" before reading what I have to say! In The UK and Ireland, the film was promoted as "The Avengers" before later being titled "Marvels Avengers Assemble"
Why on Earth did they feel the need to change the title? We all know it is going to be referred to as "The Avengers" no one is going to say "Avengers Assemble"! Especially when they just announced a TV series titled "Marvel's Avengers Assemble"!?
The Amazing Spider-man 2: Rise of Electro
As if "The Amazing Spider-man 2" wasn't a mouthful already! They had to just go and slap a subtitle to it. A subtitle that doesn't really mean anything! It implies that Electro is a force that has risen and going to cause chaos for Spider-man in future movies as well as this one... yet he dies!
To make it worse, they had one of the biggest promotional campaigns of all time, practically giving away the films story in the trailers, and it wasn't until 2 weeks before the release they call it "Rise of Electro". Come on Sony, at least do one thing right with Spidey!
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
Right, this one I actually kind of like, but the reason for it being on here is for the simple reason that there is no reason for the Dawn of Justice subtitle. Everyone knows that a Justice League movie is coming, we know that it will happen after [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870), so there is no need for it. Also, everyone has been referring to it as Batman vs Superman since the title was even announced! No one is calling it Dawn of Justice (even though I think we should).
What movie title do you think was the worst?
Whatever the title of the new X-men movie, it hits theatres May 27th 2016
