Anyone who thinks students take up most of their time pursuing alcohol and TV clearly haven't seen Murphy. The short film is the graduate project of a group of students at the prestigious ISART school in Paris, and it's just incredible.

The 6-minute movie charts a funny and slightly spooky interaction between a British soldier dropped into occupied France during WWII. When he meets an animated critter with good intentions, it becomes clear that he's not getting out alive.

The film manages to have the look of Band of Brothers, the dark comedy of Gremlins, and the clever plotting of a much longer project. Not bad for a student project, eh?

During the Second World War, an English paratrooper crash-lands in a forest leaving him wounded. He meets a creature that tries its best to help him. However, the ordeal is just beginning…
