Though she might have met her end in Season 3 of The Walking Dead, it looks like Andrea isn't quite done with being a badass hero! This time instead of taking on the flesh-eating walking dead, actress Laurie Holden has helped arrest some truly disgusting child sex traffickers in Colombia, and she credits The Walking Dead in helping out!

What They Were fighting

Colombia is a major source country for child sex trafficking and is often seen by pedophiles as a vacation destination for underage sex. Child prostitutes, as young as 11-years-old, are sourced through the local touts and pimps and brought directly to the 'buyers' at their accommodation to be sold.

However, there is hope for these victims thanks to the efforts of Operation Underground Railroad who run sting operations to get these revolting criminals behind bars, and The Walking Dead's Laurie Holden has helped do just that.

How The Sting Went Down

This latest sting operation took place in Cartagena, Colombia. A group from Operation Underground Railroad went undercover as tourists looking to hire young and underage girls for sex for a party at their rented mansion, to lure the sex traffickers into their trap. The mansion was decorated with balloons and banners, like a teenager's birthday party so the number of young women arriving at the house didn't arouse suspicion. Unbeknownst to the criminals, the house was also under heavy surveillance to catch their activities on camera.

Once the traffickers and girls were inside, Holden, who had to wear a disguise to avoid being recognized, was responsible for keeping the young girls occupied while hidden cameras caught the pimps on tape so they could be arrested. Something which she called "the biggest acting challenge in the history of all time."

Andrea The Hero

The 44-year-old actress also mentioned that it was thanks to her time on The Walking Dead that she felt prepared, telling ABC news:

"I was trained by a Navy Seal when I did The Walking Dead so I feel kind of like I can protect myself."

And it seemed like she could! The sting was a success, with the arrest of 12 criminals and the rescue of 55 sex trafficking victims. An awesome and truly heartwarming effort from Operation Underground Railroad and Laurie Holden, someone who is definitely a brave character both on and off screen.

This is seriously one of the most awesome pieces of celebrity news I've heard in recent times, and there's no doubt about it: Laurie Holden is a real life hero.
