What has that crazy Thor gotten himself into now? Disclaimer: When I say Thor I really mean Chris Hemsworth. It just so happens that I've hit a point where the two are names are synonymous. These days, Chris is not only protecting the Earth from dangerous outside forces, but also sailing the high seas in search of the elusive mammoth of a sperm whale that is Moby Dick.

In the Heart of the Sea, directed by Oscar winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, [Rush](movie:229562)), which is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s best-selling book, will show the journey of the 21 men who were stranded aboard the ship Essex for 90 days. The trials and tribulations that these men faced inspired Herman Melville to write Moby Dick. Before we talk about this movie further, I think it's best if you watch the teaser trailer.

How crazy does that look? If you find yourself in a place where watching the trailer is out of the question, it's cool because we're going to break down the important parts using some handy dandy GIFs.

That's not a hammer! Wait, this still isn't Thor.

Hammer or no hammer, Chris Hemsworth is a badass. Moby Dick looks gigantic, but I think he should still be concerned about that spear headed his way.

These guys have no clue what they're getting themselves into.

Cheers for the whaling industry! Cheers for the detrimental and irreversible effect that this industry had on the earth's whale population! Cheers for everyone!

Wow. That escalated quickly.

I can catch some shooting, fighting, chopping, chomping, and fire. I'm not exactly sure how they go to this point, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it has something to do with being shipwrecked and whatnot.

Are you KIDDING me with that tail!?

And that, dear readers, is why I don't trust the ocean. Not our of fear, but out of respect. You never know when a whale is just going to smack you right across the face with its giant tail. Better safe than sorry!

The cast and crew putting together the adaptation of this classic American novel is outstanding. Seriously, it's stacked with talent. The screenplay was written by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond), and produced by Joe Roth ([Oz The Great and Powerful](movie:41118)), Paula Weinstein (Blood Diamond, [This Is Where I Leave You](movie:404237)), Brian Grazer (J. Edgar) and Ron Howard. Other recognizable cast members include, but are not limited to, Cillian Murphy (Inception, Batman Begins), Michelle Fairley ( [Game of Thrones](movie:817617), The Others), Ben Whishaw ([Cloud Atlas](movie:40812), Skyfall), Benjamin Walker ([Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter](movie:40306)), and Charlotte Riley ([Edge of Tomorrow](movie:267902)). I don't know what you guys are thinking, but it looks like this movie is going to be phenomenal.

Warner Bros. Pictures will release [Heart of the Sea](movie:839501) film on March 13th, 2015 in theaters and IMAX.
