Now, there are a whole lot of things we love about Batman. The mystery, the crime-fighting, the cape, the cowl, the Christian Bale. He is, broadly speaking, awesome. What he isn't usually, though, is beautiful. Sure, some comic-book artists have created beautiful images featuring the Dark Knight, but it's still very much not the first thing you think of when he comes up in conversation.

And then an artist only goes and comes up with something truly lovely - and puts the Caped Crusader front and center. Specifically, DeviantArt's Alex Ruiz, whose gothic interpretations of Batman and Catwoman aren't just creepy, atmospheric and strange - they're downright beautiful, too:

They're still pretty darned disconcerting, but in the way a great painting is; not only as a means of freaking us out, but also as an attempt at creating something beautiful out of that sense of unease.

Now, can we see some of that in [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870)? Pretty please?

What do you guys think? Is the Bat-artwork...?
