Welcome back CRAVERS to the 25th CRAVE article: The Suicide Squad Members we CRAVE!

So in this list, we will be talking about the Suicide Squad Members that we want to see in the upcoming movie or maybe in future sequels. If you don't know much about the Suicide Squad or don't know them at all, here is a little description of the squad:

The modern Suicide Squad (created by John Ostrander and Ryan Scott in the aforementioned Legends #3) is an antihero team of incarcerated supervillains who act as deniable assets for the United States government, undertaking high-risk black ops missions in exchange for commuted prison sentences. The group operates out of Belle Reve Penitentiary, under the directorship of Dr. Amanda Waller. Thus, the Suicide Squad's existence helps to explain why many convicted villains in the D.C. Universe roam free without having heroes tracking them down—until they, inevitably, attempt or commit another crime.

So, as you can guess, this article is based on the newer versions of the Suicide Squad (including the New 52 versions and even the 1987 version). Also, Amanda Waller will not appear on this list because she is too much of an obvious choice and maybe some others on this list will seem obvious to you, but there are so many members, we could get any members Warner Bros. throw at us. So, why not tell them what members we for sure want, such as...

Deadshot

The Gorgeous Deadshot
The Gorgeous Deadshot
Floyd Lawton, the youngest of two brothers, grew up in the shadow of his older brother, Edward. Edward Robert Lawton was good at sports, good at school, good with the girls, and everybody liked him. Everybody expected Floyd to be the same, but he wasn't. Since Edward was everyone's hero, Floyd decided to be the villain. He got up to all kinds of trouble as a child. Even though Floyd lived in his brother's shadow, Floyd still idolized Edward. Throughout his life this clearly shown when under extreme psychological stress he has, mistakenly called others by his brother's name.
One day the boys' mother, Genevieve Lawton, asks the pair of them to kill their abusive father. Edward accepts this request but Floyd refuses to kill his own father, so Edward locks him in the shed behind the house. Floyd manages to break out and in order to save his brother from jail and a grim future, he decides to save his father. He obtains a rifle and climbs a tree. Peering through the window into the house, Floyd sees Edward about to shoot his father. Floyd attempts to shoot the gun out of his brother's hands but at the last moment the branch upon which he is perched snaps, causing Floyd to accidentally shoot and kill Edward. Floyd inadvertently kills the brother he loves to save the father he hates. Wracked with guilt, he sees his life as "meaningless" from that point on.

Man, that is one heck of an origin story. Deadshot, to most people, seems like that obvious choice that I was speaking of. But, nothing has been confirmed (just rumored), so why not put him in this list! He sure deserves it, being an awesome character that has amazing marksmen skills and has only missed once (of course he missed Batman). But, not only that, he is one of the coolest looking characters with his red eye and his whole outfit, it's just sweet.

Some of you may know Deadshot from Arrow, were he appeared and even mentioned the Suicide Squad. Even though Arrow won't have anything to do with the DCCU, we can tell DC didn't forget about Deadshot. And also Ryan Gosling has been in talks about playing him in the movie (but I have no clue how that will go).

Look at him in Arrow!
Look at him in Arrow!

But, the big reason he should be in the movie is because he is one of the big members of the group. Not only a big member, but the leader in the New 52 version of the Suicide Squad. So, it's hard to argue that he shouldn't be in the movie.

Harley Quinn

The Suicide Squad Harley
The Suicide Squad Harley
Born Harleen Quinzel, Harley's mother is a somewhat harsh, but forgiving lady, who constantly calls Harley evil and compares her to other heroes. Harley's younger brother is a dead beat with children from at least two different women and still lives in his mothers house. Harley apparently sent him several large sums of money to get his life on track, but he squandered it. Harley's father is a criminal con-man, known for swindling women out of their money with his charm. Harley states that the main reason she became a psychiatrist was so she could understand why her father did what he did to their family.
Harley went to study psychology, but found doing so dull. She tricked her way in to a college.
She came up with a theory about being in love having similarities with being a criminal.

That is just a sample of Harley's origin because it is very long, but most people know it anyway. Now seen as a huge member of the Suicide Squad, Harley actually came later into the squad (2011) unlike Deadshot (1987), but who cares? Harley is still a total bad-a** that deserves her position in the movie. Not only is she beloved and her movie debut is overdue, she could be that gender/race factor that Warner Bros. is looking for. She is defiantly a strong female villain (which I think the superhero genre is lacking), so she should be 100% in the upcoming movie. Also, it signals that Joker is in the DCCU somewhere, which could cause lots of hype!

Deathstroke

Deathstroke!
Deathstroke!
Former Lieutenant Colonel Slade Wilson was chosen for a secret experiment, the Army imbued him with enhanced physical powers in an attempt to create metahuman supersoldiers for the U.S. military. Deathstroke became a mercenary soon after the experiment when he defied orders and rescued his friend, Wintergreen, sent on a suicide mission by a commanding officer with a grudge. However, Slade kept this career secret from his family, even though his wife was an expert military combat instructor. Indeed, she had been responsible for a significant portion of his early training.
A criminal named the Jackal took his younger son, Joseph Wilson, hostage to force Slade to divulge the name of a client who had hired him as an assassin. Slade refused, claiming it was against his personal honor code. He attacked and killed the kidnappers at the rendezvous. Unfortunately, Joseph's throat was slashed by one of the criminals before Slade could prevent it, destroying Joseph's vocal cords and rendering him mute.
After taking Joseph to the hospital, his wife Adeline Wilson, enraged at his endangerment of her son, tried to kill Slade by shooting him, but only managed to destroy his right eye. Afterward, his confidence in his physical abilities was such that he made no secret of his impaired vision, marked by his mask which has a black, featureless half covering his lost eye. Without his mask, Slade wears an eye-patch.

Now this one may have not been an obvious choice. Deathstroke, who just this year joined the Suicide Squad, should absolutely be in the movie. Not only is he beloved by fans and just an awesome character, this is the best way he could fit in the DCCU as soon as possible. I'm sure most of us don't want to wait around for a live action Teen Titans movie or the Batman reboot (if he would even be in it). In 2013, David Goyer even said they're working on a Deathstroke movie (he also said a Suicide Squad and Booster Gold movie as well) of which nothing has been said as of 2014. So Warner Bros., why not add him into the Suicide Squad when you have the chance?

To me he is an obvious choice, but since he is new to the team, he might get overlooked for older characters. Not that there is anything wrong with older characters, I think adding Slade would bring in not only Suicide Squad fans, but Arrow, Teen Titans and just Deathstroke fans in general. You could get that larger audience Warner Brothers!
