After announcing that 2016 will bring the Suicide Squad with director David Ayer at the helm (Fury, End of Watch, Training Day, Harsh Times and Sabotage), Variety and Deadline have reported that the studio wants already to cast three actors.
The first one is Will Smith, who definitely should sign – not because he didn't have a hit in quite a few years, but because he is one helluva actor.
Then there is Margot Robbie (you definitely know her from Wolf of Wall Street) who is also being pursued, especially since she dropped out from Ghost in the Shell. Isn't she the perfect Harley Quinn?
Lastly, Tom Hardy, who has been on a roll for the past years (and who will be seen in Mad Max: Fury Road, whose trailer exceeded all expectations at Comic Con). However, Tom Hardy is also wanted by Fox for portraying Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. And while he has the physique for being the powerful mutant, we believe that he shouldn't go that way and that he should stick with DC. After all, it wouldn't be the first time an actor portrayed two separate characters in the (same) universe – Chris Evans was both Human Torch and Captain America, while Ryan Reynolds was both Deadpool and Green Lantern.
