Jen Soska's name recognition - along with that of her twin sister Sylvia - is definitely soaring.
The "Twisted Twins", as they are affectionately called, are best known for their 2012 horror flick "American Mary" and also directed 2009's "Dead Hooker In A Trunk". Their upcoming films include 'See No Evil 2", a segment of "ABCs of Death 2", "Vendetta"and "XX".
While their star has quickly risen in the horror genre, their upcoming "Painkiller Jane" film - based on the popular comic-book character with remarkable regenerative abilities - is a golden opportunity to bring their twisted taste to a much broader audience.
But that's not what has Jen Soska excited.
No, what has Jen Soska pumped is that the film she is co-directing features two strong female characters in Jane and her friend Maureen - and that it's portrayed in a fun but realistic way.
It's that "female buddy movie" hook that has Jen Soska..well, hooked to this project.
"It is", Jen Soska exclaims. "There aren't many (female buddy movies in films). I have no idea why. Probably because there aren't that many films with females that aren't just the girlfriends."
"The relationship between Jane and her partner in Painkiller Jane is so well written", she adds. "They are so crass. I love them! And they're so relate-able."
"Painkiller Jane" is scheduled to hit theaters in 2015.
