This autumn things are really beginning to heat up over at Xbox Studios with the impending November 2014 release of 343 Studios' anniversary gift, Halo: The Master Chief Collection. All four of the previous Halo games will be included in the bundle, exclusive to Xbox One, as well as a surprise little package...

Movie behemoth Ridley Scott has been working with Xbox Studios on a brand new Halo TV series enticingly named Halo: Nightfall! We join Lieutenant Commander Jameson Locke, played by Mike Colter, and his crack unit of Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) G.I.'s as they venture into distant space to investigate terrorist activity on the Outer Colony of Sedra, which is pretty far, far away.

Go on, treat your senses to the first look with this featurette below:

Looks pretty savage, doesn't it?! The events of Nightfall take place between Halo 4 and the incoming Halo 5: Guardians and will interweave the narratives of both of the aforementioned, and also act as a link to Spielberg's upcoming Halo: The Television Series. Agent Locke will play an integral part in both, with Nightfall being his origin story, and appearing as a playable character in Guardians.

By the looks of the trailer, Xbox Studios and director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, who previously had worked on Heroes and Under The Dome, are really pushing the envelope for webseries', especially seeing as the budget has been amped up to $10million! That's a lotta dollar...

I was pleasantly surprised with how Halo: Forward Unto Dawn turned out and also thought Halo 4 was a real solid effort from 343 Studios. Hats off, it must be nerve wracking stepping into a studio like Bungie's shoes, but they pulled off a rather majestic waltz. Bring on Nightfall!
