Star Wars Episode 7 Linked With Star Wars Battlefront 3

The following and featured images represent some of the found concept art that was either leaked or discretely revealed to fans of the Star Wars universe. The images detail a number of possible plot points, locations and characters. Now, we know that DICE and LucasArts have confirmed that the Star Wars Battlefront 3 game will be part of the main series' cannon, thus it will feature connections to the film. For more on this you can check out this article here!

While this announcement was only made quite recently, it is highly likely that DICE have been connecting their game with the films for some time. They have already frequented various archives, sets and locations from the original Star Wars trilogy, therefore it is safe to assume that they have been granted access to information and sets on Star Wars Episode 7.

The question remains though, to what extent will these concepts feature in the game? Will there be a plot line in this game, or will it simply be a matter of controlling each base on each world or space station in order to proceed through the game? As of yet we're not sure, but I can definitely see a few of these appearing as easter eggs or even locations in Star Wars Battlefront 3!

Star Wars Episode 7 Concept Art & Locations *SPOILERS*

Here we see the glorious Millennium Falcon with only minor alterations to its original look. Apparently the satellite dish is one of the only things that has been amended. For the moment though the Falcon is being referred to as The Carousel.

Above, we see it sitting outside of a castle at what many have presumed, myself included, to be the Michael Skellig seaside cliff location, which means that either Daisy Ridley's "Kira" piloted the ship there or she came with a crew, as certain concept art leaks seem to indicate that she plays a pivotal role in this scene.

Above us we have a hangar that certainly resembles the industrial architecture of Tatooine. The way in which I can see certain locations such as this being implemented into the Star Wars Battlefront 3 game is quite clear. As we navigate maps such as Tatooine, fighting massive armies, there will be small locations such as this which will be directly referencing the film, though we won't be entirely aware of it until we go and see it in December.

This is a highly intriguing setting for [Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158). This appears to be the home of Kira. Yep, she stores her own ship within the downed body of an AT-AT. An intriguing way to disclose her location to passing travellers or raiders. I could see this being a capture point in Battlefront's form of capture the flag. Perhaps stormtroopers would have to run inside this AT-AT to hold down the area and capture it. Just a thought, but I can see DICE tying the two works together in subtle ways like this.

This hangar bay looks like the perfect location for a brawl. If DICE also live up to my ultimate dream, there will maps that will combine both ground and air based combat. Therefore, in this situation you'd have to try your best to avoid the crossfire and get your X-Wing safely out of this bay and up into space. I think that'd make Star Wars Battlefront 3 one of the greatest things to have graced my existence.

This is the real location being used for the rebel base in Star Wars Episode 7, the wonderful Millennium Falcon stands tall in the background. With all of those different places to hide and move within, why wouldn't they place a capture point right in the middle of this area and have players running in and out of all these bases?

From these images we get a great look at what lies ahead in Star Wars Episode 7, but also Star Wars Battlefront 3. The two are certainly going to be linked in terms of locations, ships and hints in the form of easter eggs. We may also see playable characters and featured lightsabers from the film. Star Wars Battlefront 3 is a long way away, though not as long as Episode 7, so a lot can happen in the months ahead.

What do you think, will these locations feature in Star Wars Episode Battlefront 3?!
