Christian Bale and Apple fans of the world rejoice! It's official, Oscar winner Christian Bale is set to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic. The film, based on Walter Isaacson's biography title simply Steve Jobs, will be written by the Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Moneyball) and directed by Oscar winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, 127 Hours). I don't understand, do you have to have won an Academy Award to even be considered to work on this project?

With this team behind the project, there isn't a doubt in my mind that it will be a fantastic movie.

While other actors, namely Ashton Kutcher, have made admirable attempts at capturing the Silicon Valley innovator, none has really done the controversial Apple co-founder and CEO justice. Bale is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors alive, which is why he will be amazing as Jobs and, according to Sorkin in an interview with Bloomberg, didn't even have to audition for the role.

We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale...He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.
He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined...There isn’t a scene or a frame that he’s not in. So it’s an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it.

This is the Steve Jobs we've all be waiting for! The tech mogul's character has always very intense and contentious, which is part of the reason why he's been so difficult to play. [Steve Jobs](movie:267874) was willing to risk friends, family, and even his health to accomplish his end goals. Being the renowned method actor that he is, Bale will hopefully be better able to throw himself into that mindset and nail this role.

Personally, as a Silicon Valley native, I am beyond excited to see what this group of powerhouses will come up with.

What do you think of Christian Bale being cast as Steve Jobs?
