In the upcoming Daredevil Series on Netflix, it appears his costume will go through an evolutionary process to get to the classic Red Devil costume we all know from the comics.
The outfit pictured above looks to be a homage to "The Man without Fear" costume in the series by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr (two of my favorite comic book artists next to Jim Starlin.) The bandanna mask he wears here is also reminiscent of the Elektra Origin story (also written by Frank Miller) where Matt Murdock is still in College and has not become Daredevil (yet.) He puts on the bandanna to go save Elektra and her Father who are being held hostage by rival gangsters. See Daredevil Issue#168 (1981)
What are the other possible Costumes we may see in [Daredevil](movie:47230) on Netflix?
In the early days of the Daredevil comic series, He wears a red & yellow suit that incorporates part of his father's (Battlin' Jack Murdock's) boxing outfit and hooded robe. He wears this when he gets revenge on the Mobsters that killed his father for not throwing the prize fight.
Then there is the all red costume which we are most familiar with. The 2003 leather version wasn't too bad and made sense from a practical standpoint. I think they will go with a more functional Red (under armor type fabric) shirt with a cowl and military style pants & boots. As for weapons, He's sure to have the billy club and cane with grappling cable. Hopefully they will incorporate some amazing acrobatic stunts into this series as well.
This is the all black outfit with red "DD" on the chest which is very similar to what he's wearing in the Netflix picture as well as the "Trial of the Incredible Hulk" episode with Rex Smith. In the Shadowland series, Daredevil (Leader of The Hand) has brought them back to Hell's Kitchen to clean up the town.
