A few months ago I released my GL Fan Film LANTERN DRIFTER.

The idea for the film was spawned when I realised there were no GL fan films that really tried to have the Power ring form creative constructs, usually its a hammer or a fist or plug in that comes with a Video Copilot product.

I wanted to set up a universe where the ring chose someone who isn't already a hero or skilled at anything but could potentially be a hero at heart. He isn't a fighter jet pilot or ex military blah blah, just someone who doesn't even have a goal in life little own a house to live in.

Here is the short film. It is intended on being the first in a series that builds on the character. The point of this set up is that the ring hasn't told him what a GL is so he hasn't got a costume. How ever the character arc is in place for him to don the costume in the future.

The VFX were heavily planned ahead of the shoot. Tried to keep the designs of the constructs based on things the Drifter would see in his own life. He's not building gun turrets or flame throwers (things he doesn't see every day or understand how they function), he makes a tire lock, a heavy duty magnet he would see on a construction site. That along with something he things of on the spot, a gauntlet with suction cants on the hand to rip off a car door, things imaginative yet practical.

Here is a VFX breakdown of the construct process. Planning the constructs ahead of time made the shots on set easier to set up and post production much easier.

Hope you all enjoyed the film and subscribe for more films.
