After the success of [The Flash](series:1068303) pilot episode, The CW are very interested in bringing more DC Comic adaptions to their network. This news came out just after The Flash was premiered but I thought it would be a good idea to narrow down some possible characters that The CW could adopt. Now personally I wish that The CW got their hands onto SuperGirl or Teen Titan's so that it could exist in the [Arrow](series:720988)/Flash-verse. However due to Time Warners ownerships with TNT and CBS its still possible they could be in the same universe. To be quite honest though I don't think Teen Titan's should be getting a TV adaption. A lot of CGI would be required and when your on a TV series schedule, its gonna be difficult to pull off. But Im willing to give the show a chance so if it can be done, then good for TNT. Though just got to say, shame on you TNT for cancelling Dallas.
Before I give my list of DC characters that deserve to get their own adaption I just want to address the Hourman project. Hourman has supposedly been in development for a while now but at this point I think its been put on the shelf for now. Also Ray Palmer on Arrow probably won't be transforming into the Atom anytime soon as I believe for now the writers want to use him for a different purpose. Even when he does become the Atom I myself am not really too bothered about him getting his own TV series for now.
Anyway here's my list:
The brother of Stephen Amell, is taking on Ronnie Raymond and Victor Garber is taking on Dr. Martin Stein. We've already seen Raymond on the last episode of The Flash and after the mid-season Im sure we'll be seeing the transformation take place. Now a character like Firestorm only getting the odd episode here and there on The Flash isn't enough. Also out of all the characters The CW could make a new TV series out of, Firestorm seems the most likely at the moment.
Now this is another type of character that would require more CGI than other characters so Green Lantern maybe difficult to pull off. But like I've said, if it can been done Im willing to watch it. My reasons for Green Lantern is because he's had history with Green Arrow and The Flash. In fact Barry Allen and Hal Gordon become close friends in the comics. Now I know we got the new movie coming in 2020 but there is more than one Lantern to choose from. Something that Im a bit annoyed about with the new Flash movie coming in 2018 is that they've decided to go with Barry Allen, when they could have gone with Wally West. I mean it wouldn't of hurt to choose a different Flash considering Barry Allen is not the only one to take on the role. But anyway if Green Lantern were to get a TV series on The CW, then what Warner Bros could do is give John Stewarts Lantern a go in the movies. Then let The CW have Hal Gordon. So taking into a count the time Green Lantern has shared with Flash and Green Arrow in the comics, I can't really think of a better character to join their universe.
Here's a DC character that could really do with some attention. Unless your really into DC Comics then I doubt you would have heard of this character. In fact I don't really know much about the character myself. The last time I read a comic with his appearance in it was during 'The Death of Superman' story arc. And along with all the other Justice League members, Booster Gold nearly died facing Doomsday when the monster had one of its hands tied behind his back. I know a lot of comic fans would like to see this character get a shot in TV or movie, so hopefully one day that might happen. Marvel built their cinematic universe and are now introducing characters which ten years ago would have bombed at the box office. So now WB/DC can do it. Now with the schedule Warner Bros. released I doubt Booster Gold will be coming anytime soon on the big screen, but as a TV series it could happen soon. I don't know much about Michael Jon Carter but from what I do, he could be a great addition to The CW's TV universe. A TV series could really boost the characters reputation, just like Jason Mamoa who should boost Aquaman's reputation.
With the movie coming in 2016 this probably isn't on Warner Bros. mind right now when bringing TV series to networks. However the fact that they've already established the Suicide Squad through Arrow means they have this team ready to go for a TV series. Just like Firestorm, they've already established this team and if The CW is struggling to pick a new character to adapt, then the Suicide Squad is already there and ready to go. For now though we have the movie to look forward to just under two years from now.
I know this is a long shot at this time, with Nightwing set to lead the Teen Titans in the upcoming TV series, but I would love to see the character get his own series. It would be like Arrow only Nightwing would be facing off against foes in Gotham. And with their already being enough Batman at the moment, this could really be like a Bat-series only not with Bruce Wayne in it. Of course his existence may still need to be their but a series mainly just focused on Dick Grayson would be awesome. Also Nightwing being in the same universe as Arrow would make total sense and the fans would love it. If they can make a really good Green Arrow series then they can definitely make an awesome Nightwing series. Like I've said this is probably a long shot for now, but the Arrow/Flash-verse would be perfect for Nightwing.
I do have a few other suggestions but their the main ones I have on my mind for now.
