It's kind of an odd thing, but have you ever wondered just how many people lost their lives during the course of the original Star Wars trilogy? It's the sort of classic 2am, propping up the bar type question that's been more-or-less eliminated by the rise of Google and smartphones, but, still...we can't help but wonder.
Just how many people died?
I mean, it must be huge - we're talking Alderaan, a whole bunch of attacks on rebel bases, TWO death stars going down, and a butt-load of Stormtroopers besides. Is it even possible to work it out?
Cue the good folk at Digg, who've not only provided an answer, but gone and made a supercut of every last one of those deaths:
All 2,005,645,868 of them.

After all, just because you're a giant, horrific monster, doesn't mean you don't deserve to be mourned.
Although we still don't believe he actually died...
Jabba the Hutt
After all, just because you're a giant, horrific monster, doesn't mean you don't deserve to be mourned - Part 2.
Because it's JUST. SO. SAD.
And, of course...
I should probably also give an appropriately mournful shout out to Obi Wan, Yoda, the Emperor, and everyone who died on both Death Stars - all of who only missed out because I really wanted to include that Ewok.
What do you guys think? Which Star Wars original trilogy death is your favorite (or least favorite?)
