a.k.a. The Only Good Alien Movies
As the Month of Spooky Shit winds down, the Jasons take a moment to appreciate the sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien (1979) - and its awesome sequel Aliens (1986) - in honor of the films' 35th anniversary. They discuss H.R. Giger's incredible art, themes, casting and reinforcement, biological logic, suspense, Aliens' effect on the world of action films, Vietnam, Sigourney Weaver, Paul Reiser (!!), Aliens vs. Predator (1987), sequels, prequels, and more!

I was always more of an Aliens guy, myself, being that was one of the first movies I ever have a clear memory of seeing. (My parents were super super lax about movies like that when I was a kid - I grew up on stuff like Aliens, Predator, Die Hard, Robocop, Terminator, etc. when I was a kid. I think I was the only kid I knew who saw Robocop all the way through, uncut, when he was 7 years old.) That said, I can still appreciate how much Alien has done for the world, and it’s still an incredible film in its own right. Try and make some time to revisit it, if you haven’t done so recently.
