When you think of DC writer, Kevin Smith (Tusk, Clerks, Dogma), you think of the picture above. His beard is pretty much a trademark, and I can't even recall a single time I've seen him without it. If you google "Kevin Smith shaved," you would just get this picture of him pretending to shave. You'd also get this picture of him from his younger years:

No, I don't know why he's holding a chalupa.

In recent years on the other hand, nobody has seen Smith without his trademark facial hair. However, for his upcoming comedy entitled: Yoga Hosers, Smith has decided to do what many consider to be unthinkable: shave his beard. Here is the image that Smith recently posted on twitter:

With it, Smith tweeted:

Look at this goofy spaz. This is me, beardless, for the green screen shoot. It’s a Face-Brazilian!

I never thought that I would see a story of a man shaving his face get so much news coverage, or even be considered as news, but this story has already made it to Vanity Fair, comicbook.com, and Cinemablend. You can call it a slow news day, but in terms of stories about shaving, this is one for the history books.

So while Kevin Smith says goodbye to his famous beard (for now at least), we can look forward to seeing [Yoga Hosers](movie:2210300), due out June 1, 2015.
