Gabriel Picolo isn't a professional illustrator yet, but he should be.

Picolo's 365 Days of Doodles project has been providing one beautiful drawing a day, depicting subjects from classic comics, Disney, and things he observes around him. But his take on Studio Ghibli really is something else.

Featuring the characters we love from Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro and more, they'll make you nostalgic if nothing else.

Since Hayao Miyazaki announced his retirement for the fifteenth time this year, it's a real possibility that he'll never make another feature film. But in art like this, and through spreading the Ghibli love, we can at least keep these characters alive.

Check out Picolo's lovely illustrations below, and see more of his project here.
