Today's Marvel Event saw some of the biggest news thus far for Phase 3, especially - including the ground-breaking news of release dates for Captain Marvel and [Black Panther](movie:9047).

Kicking off the slate is Captain America: Civil War, which our ass-kicking Editor-in-Chief Alisha has speculated on and - well, guess what? - she's totally right.

The highly anticipated [Doctor Strange](movie:559685) followed, with Benedict Cumberbatch rumored for the lead, but not confirmed.

The third installment of the Thor films, THOR: RAGNAROK was announced for July 28, 2017

Black Panther will open on November 3, 2017. 42's Chadwick Boseman has officially been cast as Wakanda's favorite superhero. Back when the trailer for [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) was announced, it was rumored that we'd see some hints of the character through Ulysess Klaw - who fans speculate will be played by Andy Serkis. Seems like all that was true!

Captain Marvel is set to release on July 6, 2018, and will star the modern-day Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers. A hit to DC's Wonder Woman, to say the least.

[The Inhumans](movie:910490) will continue Phase 3 on November 2, 2018.

Rounding out Phase 3, The Avengers: Infinity War will be split into two parts.

James Gunn also appeared via satellite to thank fans and announce that [Guardians of the Galaxy 2](movie:1081113) will hit on May 5th, 2017.
