Uncharted 3 News!
Is it a coincidence that these two recent pieces of news surrounding Uncharted 3 and Uncharted 2 have surfaced? I hope not! Because if they are true, my PS4 will be graced by the presence of a beautiful re-release of the Uncharted series!
The image below was accidentally revealed by Sony, in which it shows a snowy cliffside from Uncharted 3, says the PS blog. But obviously that doesn't make sense as it must be a screenshot from Uncharted 2, just as we reach the top of the collapsed train. However, the tags in the picture are for Uncharted 3...peculiar. In any case, this could actually mean that the Uncharted series could be rereleased for our PS4 consoles!!
At the outset of this announcement, I couldn't imagine what that would look like. Imagine Uncharted 3 at double the frame rate of when it was released for the PS3. Well, now we don't have to wonder anymore. The clip below shows the game running at a beautiful 60fps at 1080p. It suits the fast paced action of the game and the sense of wonder and exploration feels enhanced as this world looks absolutely stunning! This is as close as we can get to a PS4 version at the moment!
To be honest, I was thinking of playing these games again in the near future before the release of Uncharted 4, but I may hold off on that now to see whether they rerelease the titles for PS4. I've never been the biggest fan of the Uncharted series, though I do really enjoy the games. I'm sure I have them somewhere in my apartment...gotta find them again.
What are your thoughts on the Uncharted series? How good does this game look at 60fps?!
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
We're still awaiting the release of more news from Sony regarding their PS4 exclusive Uncharted 4. The game will assuredly have a massive production value and is bound to dazzle us on our NextGen consoles. What are your thoughts on the setting though?
Uncharted had more tombs and jungles, Uncharted 2 had snow and icy landscapes and Uncharted 3 had the blistering heat of the desert. What lies in store for Drake? Could that dark island be it for the next adventure? Will we lose the playful and light nature of the series, to a darker Uncharted?
I hope not, though I love The Last of Us more than anything, its tone suits its world and that shouldn't be transferred to Uncharted 4. I'm all for exploring Drake's character, just, let's not make it too dark Naughty Dog!
