Seth Rogen might not be a man that springs to mind when I say the words "probably Oscar-winning upcoming biopic of tech giant," but he soon may be.

Rogen is apparently the favorite to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in the upcoming and as-yet untitled biopic of Steve Jobs, who'll be played by Christian Bale. Also reportedly this close to signing is Jessica Chastain, fresh out of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. It's directed by Aaron Sorkin.

The biopic is based on Walter Isaacson's biography of the tech icon, charting Apple's humble beginnings to its transformation into one of the largest companies in the world, with a stranglehold on pop culture and a monopoly on trends.

Bale is certainly a great choice for Jobs, if for nothing more than the uncanny resemblance, and it has to be said that Rogen has something of the Woz about him too. If he pulls this off, it could be his big dramatic breakout, following the likes of Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill, and Matthew McConaughey.

The film will be released next year. We await the Oscars with bated breath.
