It seem as if this week has been all about Marvel Studio's next big hit Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. And, yes it will be a big hi!. When you compare the anticipation for Whedon's new film against its predecessor, The Avengers, Age of Ultron is creating a buzz that has enticed and converted everyone and their mother, AND grandmother, to flock to the movie theaters to watch superhero movies.
First we got the official release of extended footage for [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) at the end of Marvel's: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. We then got even more news about the film alongside Marvel's future slate for phase 3 movies all the way to 2019. Just breaking over the weekend, we got confirmation that Tom Hiddleston's Loki will play a key role in Avengers: Infinity Wars (it was a given based on the fact that his scepter does contain an infinity stone).
But, speaking of Loki, more Avengers news broke overnight that he and Heimdall might be having a role in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron! Speaking with The Telegraph, Idris Elba, who plays Asguard's gatekeeper, he revealed:
I’m in Avengers, and I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston.
This could be very plausible and believable. Surely, Whedon hasn't released all the secrets and the casting for for The Avengers 2. It would make sense that maybe Thor will revisit Asguard by way of maybe Scarlet Witch?
This clip was leaked last week and if the dialogue is too hard to understand, here is the breakdown of it:
Stark: “Thor didn’t say where he was going for answers?”
Rogers: Sometimes my teammates don’t tell me things. I was kind of hoping Thor would be the exception.
Stark: Yeah, give him time. We don’t know what the Maximoff kid showed him.
(This would be a reference to Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, who is able to reveal the future, look into the past, and reveal alternate realities.)
Rogers: I don’t know what she showed you. I just know it made you do something stupid. (Shakes his head.) “Earth’s mightiest heroes …” They pulled us apart like cotton candy.
Stark: Seems like you walked away all right.
Rogers: (Straightening.) That a problem?
Stark: I don’t trust a guy without a dark side. Call me old fashioned.
Rogers: Well, let’s just say you haven’t seen it yet.
Stark: I was doing research …
Rogers: That would effect the team.
Stark: That would end the team. Isn’t that why we fight, so we can end the fight, so we get to go home?
Rogers: Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time. - Courtesy Marc Rod's Article
Maybe he is sent there as a vision. Maybe he is sent there to gain answers. It is uncertain what the scene could imply, but I'm sure fans will be pleased to know that Loki and Heimdall will have at least a brief cameo to give Thor a little more story for The Avengers next outing as a "team". Their will and friendship will be tested to great heights in this next mission. Everything will ride on their shoulders. I for one can't wait to see what's in store and I'm sure the rest of you have the same itch that you can't wait to scratch come May 1, 2015!
