Christian Bale Drops Out of Steve Jobs Biopic:
It’s hard to fill Steve Jobs’s shoes — even the film version. Actor Christian Bale has withdrawn from the Sony Pictures project after concluding he was not right for the part, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Michael Fassbender, the actor who received an Oscar nomination for his supporting role in “12 Years a Slave,” is in early talks to play Apple’s charismatic yet demanding co-founder, according to a person familiar with the matter, who confirmed a Variety report. The movie is based on Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography, “Steve Jobs.”.
Michael FassbenderEyed for Steve Jobs Role:
Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin previously said Bale was going to “crush” the role, but the crushing will now have to be done by someone else. Deadline reports that Michael Fassbender is being eyed to play the lead role, but Variety is definitively saying the Oscar-nominated actor is in early talks for the gig. Variety also reports that Seth Rogen has gone from being eyed to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak to active negotiations. The big hook for the film is that it’s only three scenes, and each one takes place before the launch of a major Apple product: the Mac, the NeXT, and the iPod.
