We know that the female-led [Ghostbusters 3](movie:32733) is on its way and, from the sounds of it, should be pretty great! I'm really looking forward to it. But, after years of hang-ups, the odds that what's left of the original Ghostbusters crew will reunite for a movie are sadly pretty low.
If you're in need of a blast from the past, though, Entertainment Weekly has got you covered. Check out the cover from their annual reunions issue below:
Inside the issue, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ivan Reitman, and Annie Potts reunite and share stories about auditions, the Ghostbusters legacy, and the late Harold Ramis who passed in February (the crew really looks incomplete without him).
It wasn't just EW that got involved in the Ghostbusters reunion action. Today host Al Roker sat down with some of the cast of the original movie, and there was only one question he wanted answering: will we ever get see these guys back for another Ghostbusters movie?
So, while there may be a lot to be excited for with the reboot, there were just so many classic lines from the original that we'll never get the chance to recreate. Like...
"Back Off Man, I'm a Scientist"
This ironic zinger was easily one of the best lines from the movie.
"When someone asks you if you're a god... you say YES!"
Of course Winston Zeddmore joined the Ghostbusters simply because it was a paying gig, but he delivers one of the more memorable lines here.
"Since I've joined these men, I have seen shit that'll turn you WHITE!"
Another line from Zeddmore. I love the guy at the end who can't bear to look.
"Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!"
Bill Murray delivers this classic line impeccably. This rant occurs right after a proposed shutdown of the house where they have kept all of the "busted" ghosts.
"You're right. No human being would stack books like this" and "Listen... do you smell something?"
This whole sequence is perfect.
"Ray has gone bye-bye, Egon...what have you got left?" and "Sorry, Venkman. I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought."
Seriously, I'd be beyond being able to come up with a plan if I saw a skyscraper-tall marshmallow man stomping down the street, too.
Other reunions in the article include The Fabulous Baker Boys, Mean Girls, Sports Night, Napoleon Dynamite, Little House on the Praire, and Monty Python. No offense to those classics, but I'm pretty sure the reason we'll pick up that EW spread is for the Ghostbusters crew.
I just have one question...Where's Slimer?
