Willem Holleeder was one of four men jailed for their part in the 1983 kidnapping of brewing magnate Freddy Heineken. The movie presents the story from the point of view of the lager tycoon, who was abducted in Amsterdam at gunpoint and held for three weeks with his chauffeur Ab Doderer.

The pair were eventually released following a reported ransom payment of $35 million, but Heineken's perpetrators were eventually caught and brought to justice. Afterwards, however, Heineken largely withdrew from public life following the abduction.

Anthony Hopkins is to play the titular Heineken and Jim Sturgess, Ryan Kwanten and Sam Worthington are expected to play the kidnappers. Check out the official trailer for the movie, right here:

Anyone else need a beer after that?

Kidnapping Freddy Heineken currently has a January release date for the Netherlands only, but we will be scanning the horizon for a US release date.

Either way, that's a movie that seems well worth looking out for. One that reminds us something we've learned too many times before: Do NOT f*ck with ANTHONY HOPKINS! And if the trailer wasn't enough to convince you, then the raw power of Jim Sturgess' mustache should do it.

Will you be looking out for Freddy Heineken?
