Danish director, Nicolas Winding Refn has announced on Monday that his follow up to his hugely successful 2011 movie Drive, will be a horror film entitled The Neon Demon.

Refn announced that he had finished the script for the film and that it will center around a cast of young women, he explained how he came up with the concept:

One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women...Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty.

Wow! Talk about taking inspiration from his surroundings.

He also stated that the film will return to the streets of LA, saying:

After making ‘Drive’ and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of ‘The Neon Demon'

Principle photography on the film will begin early 2015, with a cast which is yet to be announced. The Neon Demon will be released sometime in 2016.
