A Point of Geeks report

One of the most anticipated films in movie history is the upcoming Star Wars sequel. The seventh installment in the legendary series is being prepped to take over all areas of media in the next few years. A new trilogy has been planned and multiple spin-offs and side stories will be taking place within the re-energized Star Wars universe.

Principal photography has wrapped on JJ Abrams' eagerly awaited seventh episode of the Star Wars saga. Abrams has reunited Star Wars legends, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford among others to take one last ride in a galaxy far, far, away. There are numerous rumors and spoiler-filled reports running rampant on the internet now about the plot and the fate of some of the franchise's most beloved characters. However, it is always nice when you can get some basic facts to work with. Recently we received the first piece of solid foundation to build the rest of the modern Star Wars universe from. Today the official subtitle of the film has been released.

The Force Awakens. Simple and to the point. It certainly rolls off of the tongue better than The Phantom Menace. This is exciting news for many reasons. Most importantly, this is the beginning of Disney and Lucasfilm's marketing campaign for the film. Expect to hear actors being a little more open, possibly production or publicity stills popping up, and maybe even a teaser trailer in the near future. The early buzz from on the set is that the film is going to be extraordinary. It's hard to imagine the quality equaling the rabid fan anticipation, which is no fault of the production. However, if Abrams is able to make it markedly better than the prequel trilogy, he would have won half of the battle all ready.
