I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on Destiny. The game lacks in so many areas and yet I continually return to grind and grind in the crucible and the weekly strike missions and so on. But all along, through my hours of gameplay, I never realised some of these great facts hidden away in Destiny that you may not have realised either!

Let's take a look at what Bungie had hidden away in the form of easter eggs or even displayed in plain sight, some of which had hidden lore behind something you see every day in Destiny. Here are some things you may never have known about Destiny!

Wizards Are Girls?!

Yep, according to Destiny's lore, those pesky and annoying wizards are actually females! Take a look at this quote here: "The Wizard is the scalpel with which the Hive viviscet the Universe. A nightmare of rag and bone, the wizard conceals herself within darkness and fire, dissecting and experimenting on anything that falls into her clutches." Madness all round.

Your Ghost Can Open Doors?!

Well of course he can, that's all Peter Dinklage does!! He's a glorified door opener, and might I add that he is also awful at it. He takes ages and then always sets off an alarm, how are we supposed to like this guy?! But what you may not have known is that you can actually open other random doors in the environment by pulling out your ghost.

When standing in front of doors on certain planets that you don't interact with in missions or strikes, your ghost can actually open some of them. For the moment, none of them seem to have anything but long dark corridors behind them. Future DLC areas?

The Fallen Have Souls?!

You've more than likely seen this occur on several occasions and thought nothing of it. When you land a precision kill on a member of the Fallen, you've noticed that white mist leaving their body, yeah? This is actually a representation of their soul. This is even mentioned on one of the missions in which we have to prevent the Fallen returning the full power of a captured soul. Maybe all of their little souls can be saved in some way and this fact may resurface in later story missions.

Dark Souls References in Destiny!

It seems more than apparent that Bungie were inspired by From Software's incredible work on the Dark Souls franchise. Destiny pays many loving respects to the game, which remains one of the greatest titles of our generation. Let's take a look at them.

First off we have an item called the Ghost Angel Cloak, which features an item description of "We are an army of chosen dead." This is of course the name of your character that you play as in the Dark Souls game.

The most obvious reference comes in the form of a Warlock chest piece called Heart of the Praxic Fire. The item has a very Dark Souls like description but one of its upgrade icons is two hands worshiping the sun. Of course, this upgrade is titled "Praise the Sun", which is a famous gesture you can perform in Dark Souls and is written by many players in their messages.

So what did you think did you know about these features before, want some more Destiny Easter eggs? Then check out this article here - Destiny!
