As much as I love comic books and superheroes, I also love Star Wars and it's epic story. I've read several books, as well as play most of the video games, which were fantastic. I've also watched the phenomenal series The Clone Wars, the old and new one. No doubt Star Wars is one of the best space opera ever, the original trilogy was amazing and despite people's distaste for the prequels, I grew up with it so I grew to love them as well.

All these geeky things, Star Wars, superheroes, etc. they have helped me grow to the person I am today because they have given me the greatest gift I could ever ask for and that's imagination.

So with that being said, I will discuss my Top 10 favorite scenes on the Star Wars Saga, only including the movies.

10. Qui-Gon Jin and Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Maul

Although The Phantom Menace is probably considered to be the worst Star Wars film, there is no denying that this fight scene between the three is amazing. In the Original Trilogy the fight scenes were pretty slow and, dare I say it, kinda boring. In this scene we forget about the plot and how 'meh' this film is as we are fixed on this wonderful fight. Fast paced, entertaining, death, this was a scene we could all admit was pretty bad-ass.

9. Han Solo- "I Know"

This is probably one of my favorite lines from the movie. We know Han Solo is going to be taken to Jabba the Hutt and we feel sad towards this part but that romantic scene before he is frozen in carbonite where Lea says "I love you." and he says "I know." Truly hit me as a fan. This scene just captures so many emotions all at once, it captures, love, hope, fear, sadness, just a flood of emotion and Harrison Ford delivers as Han Solo. The original script was for Han to say, "I love you too." But how cliche and boring is that? So Ford decided to improvise and say how Han would really say it.

8. The Empire invade Hoth

***It's a long video***

This scene certainly lives up to it's title. The Empire does strike back as they invade the plant of Hoth with full force. This scene was nail biting as we all knew the Empire would win but we weren't hoping for it. We also get a cool look at new vehicles in this film such as the snowspeeder and the enormous AT-AT. This was a fun scene and it divides the characters to go on their own path in the film.

7. The Clone Wars Has Begun

I truly enjoyed Episode 2 and this scene is an amazing one. The start of the Clone Wars. What makes this scene for me is the music. The Imperial March and we get some foreshadowing to the future of the Empire. Plus, the Clones look awesome.

6. The First Death Star Meets its Fate

I truly wish I was in theaters to see this film in 1977 so I can live with the full emotion that everyone else had. I bet people were nervous, biting their nails, not knowing what would happen next. This is one of the saga's most memorable moment and deserves a spot on this list. This scene is glorious and I bet it made everyone in theaters go nuts.

5. The Opera Scene

On youtube, a man has a channel called Nostalgia Critic and he spoke about why he enjoyed this scene so much and after watching it, I agree. Star Wars is more than just the movies. It's a whole mythos with hundreds if not thousands of different stories, set in its on timeline. This scene gives us that first glimpse of the Star Wars mythos in this short but powerful scene.

4. "I am your father"

To all you purist out there this is the original scene from 1980 and how can this not be on the list. Probably the biggest reveal in all of cinema, we find out that Luke's father is Darth Vader himself and is offered the choice to rule by his side in the dark side or escape. He chooses the latter and escapes, but not without a lost. He loses a hand and when he reunites with his friends they are all torn up and broken. The title certainly lives up to it's name.

3. The Arena

These 2 scenes above are just breathtaking to watch in my opinion. The scene was one wild ride of chaos and joy to watch. We get our first glimpse of the Clone Troopers and how awesome they look, and we get our first look at other Jedi's fighting some having a moment to shine. Also I would like to add, that I loved watching Yoda fight Dooku.

2. The Final Battle Between Good and Evil

This is just a great scene to finish a great trilogy. What makes me love it so much is that we see a glimpse of Luke Skywalker's dark side and he is filled with anger and cuts Vader's hand off and almost kills him. The Emperor tells him to kill him and he may take his place as apprentice. There can only be 2 after all. Luke decides not to succumb to the dark side and refuses to kill Vader. The Emperor than uses force lightning to attack Luke. Meanwhile Vader has a change of heart that shows it takes even greater strength to not kill someone when they are offered basically the world. Vader ultimately kills his master in a climatic ending. Just a wonderful scene

And my number 1 favorite scene in all of Star Wars is...

The Introduction to Jar Jar Binks!

SIKE! I loved the Prequels but even I admit that Jar Jar was complete crap.

My real number 1 favorite scene is...

1. Order 66/ Jedi vs Sith

Ok I get ow I'm cheating by putting these 2 scene in and I bet some of you might hate me since I'm putting Episode 3 as my #1 but I love these scenes. It's an emotional roller coaster these 2 scenes. Lets start with Order 66 which is the start of the Great Jedi Purge and begins with us being shocked as Obi-Wan is shot by his own men, then comes the death of the other Jedi's. We find out that the Clones are faithful to the Republic and it's leader and will only obey him. It's like saying if our president told the enlisted soldiers to kill their officers. That's how it was in a way, and it was just depressing. Death was everywhere and I just felt like crying after watching it. And after watching the Clone War series, the feeling is even worse because you grow to like these clones, but in the end, you know what they're going to do. It's a scene that makes anyone depressed as we know that the Star Wars mythos will never be the same after this.

Now we move to the fight scene between Yoda vs Emperor Palpatine and Obi-Wan vs Anakin. Yoda can seriously kick-ass and when we saw him fight the emperor we knew it would end with a draw, but in the end of the fight we believe that the light and dark side of the force are equally matched. One cannot usurp the other. But we then go to the fight scene between Anakin and Obi-Wan which is just a visually stunning fight. The choreography is amazing and the dialogue is on par. We see that Anakin has been drowned in the Dark Side and has lost hope for return, Obi-Wan will do what he must to stop him. If I might add real quick, Ewan McGregor was the best thing about the prequels, in my opinion. This was the fight between good vs evil and we learn in this fight that good does win. Despite Anakin fighting more brutally, more powerful, it's Obi-Wan who wins. Obi-Wan's monologue in that scene was great by the way, and he doesn't even kill Anakin. He was like a younger brother to him and how can one kill their brother? If you have morality, you can't. So with everything, Obi-Wan doesn't kill Anakin because he can't and he knows that if he does, than he is no better than Anakin and he too will fall to darkness.

And that concludes my top 10 favorite scenes in Star Wars, let me know what you think. What's you favorite Star Wars scene?
