With Disney announcing their full Marvel Studios slate for the forseeable future AND surprising everyone by not only announcing [Toy Story 4](movie:335430) but putting it on the schedule for June 16, 2017, some are wondering one thing.

When are they going to let us know when [The Incredibles 2](movie:673500) hits theaters? When are they going to put this incredibly anticipated sequel on the schedule?

The answer might be..sooner than we all thought!

According to reports from sources like "The Franchise Herald", we could be getting "The Incredibles 2" in theaters on December 23, 2015!

Only one problem potential problem with that rumor is that would put it in direct competition with "Kung Fu Panda 3" - and have it open only five days after an even bigger Disney film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

Some are speculating the film may open as soon as July 3, 2015. But aside from the short timeframe to make and market the movie, fellow animated juggernaut is already on the schedule for a week later, July 10, to be followed by another big Disney movie that they will be marketing heavily, "Ant-Man".

Though 2015 may seem soon, it may not be impossible.

As reported in "The Franchise Herald":

3D Director, Josh Hollander, hinted release dates to be sooner than fans think, saying: "Right now, we're working on The Incredibles, which is a lot of fun in 3D. I'm not sure what the release strategy for it will be. It's been an interesting challenge to work on technology because - while the film was released 10 years ago - the technology is even older as it took four years to make.

Even if 2015 may be a bit soon, chances are we'll definitely get "The Incredibles" by the end of 2016. Why? Because the number of huge Disney films alone that are coming out in 2017 is bursting at the seams: "Guardians of the Galaxy 2", "Toy Story 4", "Pirates of the Caribbean 5", "Thor: Ragnarok", "Black Panther" and likely "Star Wars: Episode VIII".
