Michael Bay has officially announced that he won't be returning for a Transformers 5, and - with Shia LaBeouf and Mark Wahlberg also unlikely to return - fans are wondering whether the Transformers franchise can continue without a single familiar face remaining on board.
That said, there is always the possibility of a return for Megan Fox, even despite her being dropped from Transformers 3 when she compared director Michael Bay's strict filming regime, to Hitler.
Now, however, Michael Bay left the project, and even if he was still there, the two no longer have any issues with each other. Their relationship has improved so much, in fact, that Bay was instrumental in getting Megan Fox cast as April O'Neil in the [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles](movie:323027) movie.
So then, with Transformers 5 potentially looking for someone to keep the pedigree of the franchise alive, it might make sense for them to return to Megan Fox - but would it make sense for her, or has she, like Shia LaBeouf seems to have, moved on to more "serious" roles?
The answer to this is pretty simple: no. As mentioned above, Megan Fox's last movie was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - and when, during the press junket for that movie, she was asked why her movies always seemed to get a bad critical reception, Fox had a pretty clear message:
How much money did Transformers 4 make? Exactly. Those people can complain – they all go to the theatre. They're gonna love it – and if they don't love it, they can fuck off, and that's the end of that.
What matters for Megan Fox then, is the money a movie makes - and there is no doubt that [Transformers 5](movie:1325503) would make a lot of it.
Nor does the actress have a overloaded schedule of upcoming movies. She has allegedly signed on [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2](movie:2181585), but aside from that, there is James Franco's Zeroville (for which she recently posed in her underwear, covered in blood) and.... not much else.
It would seem then, that Megan Fox and Transformers 5 would make sense for both parties - but will it happen? Write in with your own thoughts on whether this would be a good idea below the line!
