Fans of the 'Bourne' Franchise will be relieved to hear that Jeremy Renner will be sticking with his bow and arrow and his buddy Avengers, handing the role of Jason Bourne back to his original successor Matt Damon. Contradicting reports released over the summer that Damon would not be going ahead with the recent installment, it appears he just couldn't keep his hands off it, showing he's still got a bit of action left in him after his [Interstellar](movie:813746) cameo.

In a recent interview on Friday night for E! News, Damon and his long time friend Ben Affleck, celebrated season four of their joint project, Project Greenlight, unintentionally releasing an exclusive casting announcement in between talking about their HBO show.

"Well, (Damon's) going to be doing a 'Bourne' movie next fall when I've just completely lost any semblance of physical fitness. So….," Affleck explained.

"Yes, next year" Damon added, "It'll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. (Director) Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that's all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes."

So it's confirmed Bourne fanatics! Damon and Greengrass will unite for the third time, bringing you the fifth installment in 2016. Time to grab the trilogy out the cupboard and eagerly await the continuation of our favorite assassin.
