I like to think of Black Tusk as another 343 Industries. With this perception though comes a lot of expectation. 343 not only continued the tradition of making a great Halo game, but in many ways they raised the expectations for the franchise. Halo 4 was an excellent game in every sense of the word, and the recent Halo: Master Chief Collection demonstrated how they really take care of their fans.
The collection breathed new life into the old games, allowing those who were fans of the originals to see them in ways they'd only dreamt of. It also allowed those who never played the old Halo games to experience them on their new consoles in one handy package. But let's talk about our beloved Gears of War.
Gears of War 4 & Marcus Fenix Collection
[Gears of War](movie:671276) was the first game I got with my Xbox 360 (it was also the first game which introduced me to the ring of death...but let's not talk about that...too emotional) and it was an experience I'm not likely to forget. It was bloody, it was vicious, and it was a hell of a lot of fun. The series consistently raised my expectations title after title, that is until Gears of War Judgement (not a bad game, just not what we expect from the series).
Now that we have Gears of War 4 on the horizon, I like to imagine a Marcus Fenix Collection to go along with it. Imagine it. Amazingly, there is actually a petition that someone set up which describes exactly what they would want from the collection if Black Tusk were to make it. If they made it this way, I'd buy it day one, no questions asked.
Gears of War 1, Gears 2 and Gears 3, all with updated models, textures, shaders, effects, lighting, AA, 1080p, 60 fps, all that jazz!
Drop in/ drop out 4 player co-op in all three games.
Arcade mode and scoring available for all three games.
Halo: MCC style campaign playlist where every level is unlocked and players can customise what levels to play in what order.
3000 achievement points.
Gears of War 1's multiplayer with the smooth cover mechanics and overall refinements of Gears 3.
Every single CoG and and Locust character from Gears 1, Gears 2 and Gears 3 is unlocked and playable in multiplayer.
Every single map (including DLC) from Gears 1, Gears 2 and Gears 3.
Every single weapon skin from Gears 3 and Gears Judgement are included as well.
Every single game type returns, including Beast and Horde, which are playable on every single map as well.
Purchase of the Gears of War Collection grants automatic access to the Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Beta.
Crazy stuff. As I'm writing this I'm getting such an insane desire to play these games again! It's probably the series I've played with friends more than any other and to be able to revisit these experiences on the Xbox One would be a dream come true! What do you guys think? Are you fans dying for a Marcus Fenix Collection too?

To wrap up, I thought we could all revisit this incredible moment of storytelling. One which had me so distraught while watching that I had to set my controller down and stare. Couldn't move Marcus after I saw it happen, it was so brave to put this in the middle of the campaign. Amazing.
