Despite the dedication of it's fan base, it seems like The Vampire Diaries Season 6 is not going according to plan, despite Damon's big return.

Although seeing Damon and Elena finally coming face-to-face was the moment we have all been waiting for, only 1.59 million people tuned in to witness what was meant to be the pivotal moment of Season 6.

Those numbers might seem reasonable, but when you compare it to the 2.59 million eager viewers who tuned in to watch episode six of the last season, things sudden don't seem so peachy for the Mystic Falls posse.

Despite the drop in numbers, [The Vampire Diaries](series:200853) is still one of the CW's highest performing shows, so there is no reason to panic just yet, but it is worrying that huge numbers of fans have lost interest.

I don't know about you guys, but I think Season 6 has far surpassed Season 5 with its imaginative writing and genuine shockers, so I'm baffled about what's gone wrong.

Why do you think people are dropping out of team Vampire this season? Vent your grievances in the comments below!
