Bad news for all of us out there who have hoped and prayed for a day when Jennifer Lawrence's words might grace our computer screens 140 characters at a time. It's not going to happen.
Though I'm sure it would be amazing to see how much awkwardness Jennifer could cram into a single hashtag, girlfriend has recently gone on the record with BBC Radio 1 to state that we will never get an authenticated JLaw twitter handle. The reason? Well it's a mixture, but the blame is partly with us, the mysterious people of the internet. I'll let Jennifer explain:
I will never get Twitter. I’m not very good on phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails, so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me. I don’t really understand what it is. It’s like this weird enigma that people talk about. It’s fine, I respect that, but no, I’ll never get a Twitter. If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it’s me, it most certainly is not.
She then went on to say why she had such a staunch answer about her reluctance to join social media:
I had that one locked and loaded. I really like laser focused [on that answer]…it’s because the internet has scorned me so much that I feel like it’s that girl in high school that I’m like, ‘Oh, you want to talk about her? Yeah I’ll do that!’ Take my hoops off, I’m ready to go.
Uh oh, did JLaw just lay down a challenge?! B***h hold my weave!
While I'm sorry to hear that Jennifer Lawrence will never join social media, it's probably for the best, I somehow think that constant access to her 140 character thoughts on life might dull our love for her, and we wouldn't want that to happen, right?!
