Billy Boyd apparently became the de facto lead singer of Peter Jackson's Tolkien universe when he belted out a tune in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, since now he's returning to The Hobbit to do it again. That's right, move aside Enya.
No, don't worry, Jackson isn't taking even more liberties with the source material, Pippin will not be actually shown in the film. Instead he has merely brought Boyd back to sing over the closing credits. The song, perhaps fittingly called, The Last Goodbye, has just received a preview courtesy of Water Tower Music. It is certainly a rather emotional tune, and I'm sure its effect will be tenfold when played over the final credits of the final Jackson Tolkien movie.
