Captain America and the Mighty Avengers is the series that came out of nowhere spinning out of AXIS. Knowing that Captain America and the Mighty Avengers takes place after Axis, the big question is how the events of AXIS already spell doom for the team’s new direction, and the answer could not hit you harder than those last few pages. Especially when you realize that what you assumed would be the new team and possible scenarios to come with it, this first issue takes the path you expected the least.

Some might say that Captain America was pretty off in this series, though that easily makes sense because of the inversion. That is all you are left needing to know if your aren’t someone who was interested in following AXIS. This makes Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #1 a fairly simple issue to pick up if a new reader to jump into the action. Though getting back to Sam, or Captain America, he got hit by that inversion spell fairly hard. This is a man who not 6 pages into the issue manages to shock you with how violent he has become. One of the most kind-hearted men now caring for only what he wants to care for and showing mercy to no one he thinks doesn’t deserve it.
