Its official! [Bond 24](movie:660009) production is now under way! Now that production is moving forward on Daniel Craig's fourth Bond film, I have just read that they have cast their Bond villain. And the actor to play the villain is none other than Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz.

Now, I believe that Waltz will go down in history as one of the Bond franchise's best villains since Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the Sean Connery era of the franchise and Raoul Silva in 2012's Skyfall. I have faith that director Sam Mendes (who also directed [Skyfall](movie:36632)) will bring Waltz to the world of Bond in whatever he has in store for him and put it into a sinister new image that may outmatch Auric Goldfinger, Jaws and even Alec Trevelyan.

Waltz is a very well-known actor out there. He has starred in the 2012 Academy-award winning [Django Unchained](movie:202587) as a bounty hunter, which was directed by Quentin Tarantino. He also starred as a Nazi general in the Tarantino-directed Inglorious Bastards. He has also been seen in the 2011 flop The Three Musketeers as Cardinal Richelieu. He is set to star in Tim Burton's Big Eyes, which is set for release in Holiday 2014. He is also set to star in the upcoming David Yates (of Harry Potter fame) directed Tarzan film set for release in 2016. He is also known for some voice acting in 2013's animated film Epic which he was the villain there too.

The film is set for release in November 2015. It will feature the return of director Sam Mendes, stars Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomi Harris and Ben Whishaw along with (the assumed) new Bond girl Lea Seydoux (Blue is the Warmest Colour).

So what do you think about Waltz as Bond's next big enemy? Who's your favourite Bond villain? Leave your thoughts below.
