Have you ever wondered what your favorite DC and Marvel characters would look like in Elizabethan-style clothing? Well, I haven't, but that's why I'm not an artist! As is the case with many talented people, Sacha Goldberger has given us something that I didn't even know I wanted to see!
Now that I have seen these, I really want to see a Shakespearean style play acting out Marvel's Civil War. Is that too much to ask? So here is some really cool and extremely detailed artwork featuring comic book characters wearing even more capes, ruffs, and tights than usual.
We know that these "paintings" are old because Cap doesn't even have his circular shield yet. What a throwback.
Is it weird that I can totally imagine Tony Stark living in the 1600's? He's just the kind of guy that can fit anytime and anywhere. But would he have to change his name to...Iron Maiden?
It's amazing that these pants didn't rip when he transformed. Or the ruff. Pretty impressed that these stayed intact.
Batman & Robin
"Holy boredom, Batman. Must this painting take so long?"
"Now Robin, stand very still. We must pose like this for many an hour."
Yes, Catwoman looks incredible, but I still find myself unable to take my eyes off of that cat. Just goes to show that cats wearing clothing is fantastic in any decade.
Batman: The Dark Tights. My only problem with this one is the missed opportunity to be a court jester. But other than that, it's perfect.
Spid'rman, Spid'rman, dost whatev'r a spid'r can...
Superman is looking so damn dapper in this outfit. Dear costume people working on [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870), is it too late to suggest detailed embroidery?
Okay but does she still have an invisible airplane, or is it more like an invisible horse and carriage?
To berserker rage, or not to berserker rage? That is the question.
That is...a lot of velvet. Who needs the protection that the ring can provide when they're wearing a shield of velvet?
If you're really into the idea of comic book characters being placed in this time period, some Imgurians suggest checking out Marvel 1602 to really get your fix!
