Rather than be generous and simply chuck us a teaser trailer or two for one of next years most anticipated sequels, the powers that be (Universal) have constructed a fancy viral site for fictitious company Masrani, who play a major part in giving us Jurassic World, forcing us to actually look for information instead. Typical.
Still, the site has some highlights, not only does it have a first good look at a character returning to the franchise we also get a good idea as to how the coolest and most dangerous theme park opened under a new name, and no one batted an eyelid.
As it turns out the Masrani are a telecommunications company led by Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan), who came into ownership of it after his father Sanjay died in 1992. From here Simon ventured into the oil business, making a fair bit of cash from the deal and leading him to snatch up International Genetic Technologies, which also goes by the more familiar name of InGen. As it turns out life and business tycoons find a way after all, and with the help of Dr. Wu (B.D. Wong reprising his role) that precious DNA was bust open and dinosaurs walked the earth once again - right before they run amok and start eating the visitors.
Check out the viral site here where you’ll find the stills above. Coincidentally the official site for the film has gone live too and whilst it’s a bit thin on anything of note there is a countdown, which ends on Thanksgiving around one football game or other. Guess we might get that trailer after all, eh?
As for the film in its entirety you’re going to have to wait for Jurassic World to open its doors officially on June 12, 2015. The franchise flame is of course being passed to Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, Irrfan Khan, B.D. Wong and Omar Sy.
