Now, I'll admit, I have a tendency to get over-excited when it comes to Star Wars. The very idea of The Force Awakens tends to send me into an irrational outpouring of joy - and don't even get me started on the original trilogy.

For full, sheer, unadulterated awesomeness, though - you have to go all the way back to the action figures. When I was a kid, I loved the movies, but it was the action figures, vehicles and assorted random tie-in items that made me ludicrously and fundamentally happy.

I was even lucky enough to have been given a bunch of the original '70s and '80s toys - including an original Tauntaun, with a belly you could put other action figures into.

JUST. LIKE. THE. MOVIE.

And now?

Well, Hasbro's only gone and remade it, along with the other iconic Hoth-based characters.

And...it's beautiful...

I mean, it's not quite as cool as the original - but on the plus side, the new Wampa is freaking awesome.

But nothing is THIS awesome...

I mean...look at it! It's got actual (note, not actual) blood on its mouth!

And...now I officially want them. Which is good news for Hasbro's Black Series range of action figures' sales figures - but bad news for my bank balance...
